Vessel sealing device that provides an integrated cutting mechanism independent of sealing, leaving the critical cutting decisions in the hands of the surgeon.

Eclipse was tasked with creating ergonomic options to ensure surgeons would intuitively and effectively operate the device.

Role: Contributing designer for Concept Ideation and Form/Operation Prototype refinement phases.

Subsequent refinement was completed by Covidien.

Project status: FDA approved in 2012 and currently in use.
